Canadian Election: The Perfect Party

Its time for the 3rd election in a span of 5 years. When there is supposed to be only one every 4 years. You know all the parties platforms. You've heard of the Conservatives, Blocs, Liberals, Green, NDP parties. But have you heard of the ultimate party?
The party that obviously has the best platform?
The *Ekotastic party!
Us, Neko and Teko have created this party thinking that we us KIDS can think of better ways to change our country than the current parties can.

Here is what we believe should be done:

Education:
-Free University Education for those who get 85% or higher average in required fields of study
-More resources and programs for elementary and secondary schools
-Better Music and Art program
-More Internships (For Experience)
-Individualized learning and teaching program
-Harder levels in elementary ie: Essential, Applied, Academic, this will help kids to get the stylized education they need
-Class trips, and programs learning about other cultures (Food, Clothing, etc.)

Health Care System
-Hospitals should be updated and given better technology regulary
-Promotion of fitness in Elementary and High School Students

Environment
-Hybrids will go down in price
-Gas will be cheaper per litre if you are buying it for a Hybrid
-Promote Public Transit by offering more transportation
-Public Transit prices should decrease in price
-We won't have a Carbon Tax...(Because all that will do is get US money and not actually do anything)
-Promotion of walking, biking and such

Work/Government affairs
-At least 50% of items in stores such as Walmart, have to be made in North America
-More Job 'exploring' in High school
-Broader Country Trading, Especially with Free Trade Countries such as Africa
-Broader country relations
-Recession plan
-Less Credit Card Companies to promote less debt,
-Lower Gas Prices (once all cars are replaced with Hybrids)

Food
-Local In season food only, No Imported preserved meats or produce
-Tax on Imported food, To Promote local grown food

Recreation:
-Free summer programs run by the community
-Free Sports programs
-More YMCA facilities
-More Community events, (Fairs, Art programs, Libraries, etc.)

Military:
-Less Military Funding, Money will be put into Health Care/Research and Education
-Promotion of Peace instead of War

*Not a real party. Work of fiction

G20-There is a Simple Solution

If you've been keeping up with the news, you should know that the G20 has just closed.

The G20 took place in Toronto, Canada this year and cost ed a couple billion.
Also going on was protests, where many cars were set on fire and vandalism happened.

The protesters would go as far as jumping out of the sewers to get to where they wanted to be. There was tons of police for riot control, but they never seemed to get it under control.

600 arrests.

A couple billion down the drain.

Toronto closed.
Protesters.

Vandalism.

Injury.

All so 20 of the world's leaders could chat about whatever they want to talk about. If you look at it, there is simpler solutions...Solutions that would stop the protesting and save money.

Idea #1 Fly them all out into some resort in the middle of nowhere that can only be accessed by plane. (Don't alert the media where it is)

Idea#2 Web Conference, have them all sit at home in their own countries and pull out some web cams. This saves A LOT of money and trouble. A computer programmer could set up a private channel for the leaders. This is taking advantage of today's technological world. To quote my friend: "The G20 is stupid, think about it, a terrorist could fly in on a plane and drop a bomb. BOOM! Killing all the leaders." The G20 security cost $1 Billion to keep leaders safe for three days. This is why they should use the web cam idea! But yet again, our government likes to spend money that isn't theirs, getting rid of the "extra baggage"

Instead of spending $1 billion on leaders (Who are already rich) we should spend it on helping OUR own country, getting all the homeless off the streets. Lets fix our country before sending money off to other countries.

Where is Your Vote?

Adults these days. All they talk about is the economy and politics. So, lets talk about it here. As many of you know, Stephen Harper of the Conservative Party is now Prime Minister of Canada. There are a few different parties. The Liberals, Green Party, the NDPs, Bloc Quebecois, and the Conservatives. Every once in a while, adults over the age of 18 who are Canadian can vote in the election. WHY NOT KIDS? That question is asked frequently by those children who want to have an impact on who leads our country by leaving their opinion. They are not allowed though because the government says so. The government is not always right though. That's a reason why so many people in Canada have lost their jobs. Why the economy is in a bad shape. They can also make good choices. The reason why kids aren't aloud to vote is because imagine what they would do! All right, fudge umbrellas would be a very good decision, but we can go without fudge dripping in our hair every night!

Anyway, each party is good for someones needs and that is up to that person to decide what is right for them. Don't let things on TV influence your decision when the time comes. One more thing; use fudge umbrellas!
