FlashPoint

Flashpoint: This Song is amazing! Now let me narrow "Amazing" down, Amazing Actors, Amazing Storyline, Amazing Filming, Amazing Sets, Amazing Everything.

Well that doesn't really narrow it down....
Filmed in Toronto, Flashpoint is a show about a "Swat" team. It shows that a swat job isn't just guns and "Put yours hands up." It also involves other elements, like negotiation.

One thing I have to admit I like about this show is that it doesn't just show the teams point of view, it also shows the other persons point of view.

Here's an Example;
In an episode in season 2, a teenage boy named Billy, is bullied horribly, he just gets so upset when a couple of kids decide to beat him up and put it on youtube. So, he runs home grabs a gun, and.....
I like how the show just shows you what drives the people to do what they do, and that they are just regular people and aren't necessary evil!

The actors, are very well chosen, we don't have bad actors like "Hannah Montana," we have actors who actually have TALENT!
Here is a list of the cast:

Hugh Dillon ... Ed Lane (41 episodes, 2008-2010)

Amy Jo Johnson ... Jules Callaghan / ... (41 episodes, 2008-2010)

David Paetkau ... Sam Braddock (41 episodes, 2008-2010)
Enrico Colantoni ... Sgt. Gregory Parker / ... (41 episodes, 2008-2010)

Sergio Di Zio ... Mike Scarlatti / ... (41 episodes, 2008-2010)

Michael Cram ... Kevin Wordsworth / ... (41 episodes, 2008-2010)
(IMDB)

The show can be caught on CBS and CTV. But what do other people think of the show? Turning back to the IMDB as a source we tracked down a review written by a IMDB user:
Perps are people too., 20 July 2008
Author: Jack from 89118

Wow, a cop show without perps. A TV drama with guns and not 'necessary' evil. Moral, caring cops with emotional consequences. Explosions, when all else fails.

I like 'The Unit' (also on CBS) when it addresses the egregious use of force needed to defend against force and the guilt that comes from fighting evil with evil actions. They have their moments of destruction far from home and leave the guilt for later (when they are home). Flashpoint takes place down the street. In your office building or mall. The consequences of action or inaction are to be replayed in their mind, home, community and above all on TV. And despite the preparations our heroes take, it just doesn't assuage the situations that go tits up.

This show is grounded in moral motives that will pierce the heart of it's viewers. Let the Rambo's have their shows, and let us tread the thin, ever moving and twisting thin blue line of Flashpoint. In the show's own words, "We're not here to target practice, we're here to save lives".

If this sounds up your allay check it out!

Did I mention the Music is amazing too?

Here, There, Vampire Everywhere

You may have noticed that in the last couple of months, that there is a new craze. You can tell by the movies, books, shirts, shows. The New craze is Vampires.
Vampires went from Scary Blood Sucking creatures lurking in the night: To super powered, attractive, teen vampires. You may notice that in the shows and movies, The Vampires are always the "Boyfriend" of a girl, none of them are fat, ugly, or scary for that matter.

The Craze all started with Twilight. Twilight leaded to many other vampire books and shows.

Apparently the Vampire Craze started long ago. But it really took off with Twilight. When the whole "Sexy" Vampire came in.
10 year old girls were running around looking for "Vampire Boyfriends"
But, with all the books it seems the story is always the same:

1. Girl finds out Boy friend is vampire and has powers
2. They fall in love Vampire loves girl more than anything
3. Girl becomes vampire and they live happily ever after immortal.

Its here, There vampires everywhere.
Here is what some people say about the Vampire Craze:

While I was sitting in the park today with a friend of mine talking about our views on dating and somehow our conversation got on the new Twilight/Vampire craze that's been going on.

She said that a lot of teenagers have become obsessed with the books. Over time this has translated to their dating lives, causing them to have fetishes about vampires. This has caused some teens to start biting each other on the neck during make-out sessions, drawing blood. Once the parents see the marks they have taken their teens to the emergency room or doctors office and the teens have had to receive vaccinations in response to the marks.

Meh. I blame society for sanitizing all the old stories. In an effort to make the world a "better" place by striping the fairy tale monsters of all their murderous aspect we have simply created a world of false safety. In the original Red Riding Hood there is no woodsman. She dies. End of story. Mermaids were murderous cannibals who enslaved the souls of drowned sailors. And of course, vampires have gone from being creatures that lurked around the battlefield and indulged in the gore and viscera (like the Keres of ancient Greece) to poor misunderstood tortured souls that simply want to please and protect a teenage girl. Kind of inevitable for such creatures to be put on pedestals.

Do you think the craze will end? Do you have any stories? What do you think of the craze?

In the Spotlight: Cool Shows

When, we are not looking for News we eat, and sleep, BUT we also watch T.V. We are going to tell you some of our Favorite Shows, In our very first Episode of SPOTLIGHT!
Our first Show is Monk!
The Show stars Adrian Monk who is a detective, He is compulsive which means he has to have everything just right, For example: If he sees a piece of dirt on the wall, he will clean it up immediately, But, Adrian is Brilliant solving crimes easily. The Shows shows humor, and has little violence. Also, the actors are brilliant and the show gets into the pain of Adriane's lose for his beloved wife Trudy.
I would say this is a comedy. Rated PG

Our Next Show is called Lie to Me!
It's about a company that solves mysteries. (Really Hard Ones) That even the F.B.I. can't solve. Instead of looking for clues, they look for clues on people faces. So, they can tell what someone's emotions are and if they are telling lies. Using Science and how their muscles move without them knowing. This show is more serious unlike Lie to Me and has more Gorey references, (Doesn't show it, really just talks about it)
It's a show that will keep you at your feet, the story twists all the time so, you'll never get bored. Rated 14A for language

Our next show is THE UNIT
The unit, is about special agents that not even the Police know about, The show shows some combat and saving lives, It also has lots of shooting and blood, more recommend for 11 over. They also go undercover to capture huge criminals and drug dealers. It's more of an action show, They go into different countries, sometimes if their is a leak in the unit, people will go to high lengths (terrorists , sleepers etc.) to try to get ride of some of The Units members because they shut them down. In one episode a group shut down all of the towns water and replaced it with poisonous gas to try to kill a member of the unit. (So, gas was coming out of sinks and sprinklers)
Rated 8+

Sue Thomas F.B.Eye is about F.B.I. agents solving mysteries, one of the members is deaf so she reads lips, It's a good show with not any violence, and is mainly about shutting down major drug dealers, the show also stars Levi, the super cute dog which is Sue's Hearing Dog!
Rated 8+

Hope you enjoyed this episode of SpotLight!
